I joined the LEAF lab because I would like to understand how our behaviour is affected by adverse impacts to our brain. Including the relationship between social media usage and altered brain chemistry. I am particularly interested in Adverse Childhood Experiences and how they could affect mental and physical health across a lifetime. Such as their physical manifestations through hypertension, anxiety and heart disease. I am eager to gain more practical research experience through Dr. Turner and Dr. Mueller-Coyne’s guidance and contribute to research for a better future. I plan on pursuing a Ph.D. in Behavioral Neuroscience and seeking a career in Neuropsychology, in hopes of understanding more of and bettering the relationship between the human brain and behaviour.
